Program Manager Tech - U4B

About the Role

As a PGM on the u4B Org Platform team, you will be responsible for Uber for Business (u4B) Data Hygiene and Quality. You would be improving the data quality of Uber's core business datasets by driving adoption of the tooling and processes and leading a metrics-driven Data Quality Approach like Setting up key metrics, SLAs for alerting, correctness, and availability. You will enable this through strong collaboration between the Product teams and the platform teams, crafting data governance TPM's work alongside a star team from Engineering. The role demands great technical depth, principled thinking, a high bar for quality, and ambitious innovation. Product, Design, Prod-Ops, Data Science, Legal, Business Development, etc in a fast-paced, rapidly growing, hybrid technology/operations environment to build and deliver payments risk solutions. They should be comfortable in uncharted territory as we build innovative technologies that can handle the scale!

---- Basic Qualifications ----

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering
  • Proven experience of 8+ years as a TPM or Engineering Manager in a software, SaaS, or systems development environment with an overall experience of 10+ years.
  • Experience with managing data & platform development at scale is a plus.
  • Solid technical aptitude and an excellent ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding emotional intelligence.
  • Proven strong cross-team and cross-org stakeholder management. Ability to influence, empower, and align people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills to balance many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.
  • Analytical and truth-seeking. Analyse complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
  • Data-driven: Experience determining effective program KPI's and using them to measure program success and issues. Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to backup assumptions, recommendations, and drive decisions.
  • Experienced in project management. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited.

  • Developer experience, including writing, testing and deploying code
