Head of ESG Strategy & Engagement

About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional environmental, social and governance (ESG) professional to oversee Uber's ESG strategy, investor engagements, and sustainability reporting and to further the development of our growing sustainability program. This role will be responsible for helping Uber develop an ESG sustainability strategy that will help Uber achieve its mission of reimagining the way the world moves, for the better.igniting opportunity by setting the world in motion.

What You'll Do

  • Work with our Human Resources, Investor Relations, Corporate Governance, Policy, Workplace and Business teams to develop a comprehensive ESG/sustainability strategy for Uber
  • Lead engagement with existing and future investors regarding sustainability and ESG matters
  • Coordinate responses to ESG and sustainability- related questionnaires and surveys from institutional investors, strategic and enterprise customers, and other groups
  • Lead the strategy and development of Uber's annual ESG Report and annual People Culture report, including Uber's ESG data procurement and management strategy.
  • Support Uber's electrification and emissions reduction efforts and prepare TCFD analysis and climate change-related reporting.
  • Draft and contribute to SEC filings and regional ESG Uber's ESG and sustainability disclosures and reporting, including but not limited to modern slavery, supply chain due diligence, and gender pay equity disclosures.s
  • Support Uber's Proxy Statement and Annual Stockholders' Meeting, including responses to environmental- or social-themed stockholder proposals.
  • Prepare the company for potential or likely ESG performance or reporting-related regulation
  • Represent the company's ESG function, externally and internally.

Basic Requirements

  • 10+ (ten) years of experience in a similar role or capacity

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in private practice and/or in-house leading ESG and Sustainability Engagement
  • In-house experience at large cap companies.
  • Experience with technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with key sustainability standards, SASB reporting, GRI, ESG rating firms, TCFD, and other broadly recognized reporting standards and frameworks.
  • Confidence operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work cross functionally and develop relationships.
  • Outstanding writing, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with US securities laws, public company disclosures and investor relations
  • Flexibility to perform in nimble, rapidly changing and growing environments.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working with business leaders.
  • Collaborative approach with both business and legal groups, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others.
