Senior Manager, Product Pricing- Uber Advertising

About the Team

Uber Advertising's vision is to offer the most marketplace-centric advertising to connect Uber's platform users (eaters, riders, and earners) with advertisers. Uber Advertising's platform brings together location based and shopping data with closed loop attribution across its mobility and delivery channels for performance and brand campaigns, enabling advertisers to engage with our consumers through the entire marketing funnel - from awareness through purchase to loyalty and advocacy for Uber users.

At Uber, we have set up a new Uber Advertising division to spearhead the growth of its advertising business. By building a dedicated advertising organisation and a suite of advertising products, Uber Advertising will enable merchants and brands to reach and convert its highly engaged user base across its Mobility and Delivery platforms in 32 markets.

About the Role

In this Manager role as the Lead for Product Pricing, Uber Advertising, you will be the business owner of how we price our products for advertisers. You'll be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, building and rolling out new advertising instruments and pricing models to enable our advertisers to engage with our users. You will work closely with cross functional collaborators including sales, operations, finance, product, engineering and marketing. This role will report into the General Manager, Uber Delivery Advertising.

What You'll Do

  • Build the long-term vision for advertising monetization rooted in a deep understanding of our users', merchants' and Uber's needs.
  • Work with all collaborators to develop and implement the monetization business strategy.
  • Work with the dedicated Uber Ad Sales and Account Management organization to sell these new ad opportunities.
  • Partner with product, engineering, design and data science teams to build the merging advertising surfaces.
  • Define the right balance between short-term revenue maximizing initiatives and long-term growth bets.
  • Be the conduit between sales, operations, product, engineering, training, communications, legal, and privacy.
  • Be a strategic thought partner to team members in different parts of the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Business administration degree or equivalent plus experience
  • Minimum of 6 years in consulting, strategy & operations or business development in a high growth startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in consulting, strategy & operations or business development.
  • Hands on experience working with advertising products or within an advertising-focused tech role
  • An ability to build deep relationships across a broad organization, cultivate a fun and collaborative work environment, and identify problems from different perspectives. Humility and empathy are essential to success in this role.
  • Be customer obsessed (users and merchants) and be passionate about building great experiences for Uber users all over the world.
  • Focus on building businesses, not features. Experience building and leading businesses, including ownership and optimization of business performance metrics.
  • Experience building new business units and taking businesses from 0 to 1 while working on projects with high degrees of ambiguity.
  • An ability to build deep relationships across a broad organization, cultivate a fun and collaborative work environment, and identify problems from different perspectives. Humility and empathy are critical to success in this role.
  • High standards and a bias toward action. You can find the context and information you need through relationships across the organization, you push for clarity and delivery, and you hold a high bar from your contributions and those of the people you work with.
  • Be able to work cross functionally with many other roles and stakeholders in the company
  • Exceptional communication skills, both within your team and with leadership and partners.

Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Uber's cultural identity. Unless formally approved to work fully remotely, Uber expects employees to spend at least half of their work time in their assigned office.
