Program Manager, Tax

In Finance, we work hand-in-hand with leaders across the company to ensure smooth, disciplined execution of strategic business objectives. Our Tax & Reporting team builds scalable and well-controlled processes to support timely and accurate financial, statutory reporting, and ensure compliance with regional and local tax regulations.

About the Role

This role on the Global Tax Team will champion important operational initiatives in close partnership with the Global VP of Tax and Senior Manager of Tax Content Strategy. You'll operate at a tactical, strategic and operational level, handling the oversight of projects, including those that do not accurately fit within the organizational chart or that fall at the intersection of departments or leadership areas of responsibility. This can include strategic initiatives that impact the overall success of the team as well as team culture initiatives to support a healthy organization.

What You'll Do

  • Development and maintenance of a cross-organizational risk framework
  • Develop and assemble organizational annual goals, measure progress and provide updates to stakeholders
  • Connect teams that are working on similar initiatives
  • Guide outcome oriented strategic and tactical team meetings (e.g.: leadership offsites, team building workshops, org/people reviews, budget planning, etc.) with the ability to frame problems and find methods to help others understand the problem and any trade-offs required. Take notes and own the project management on the execution of action items, follow ups
  • Champion a culture of collaboration and open communications that align with Uber's core values
  • Additional responsibilities as periodically assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Project/program management experience
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree related to management, business, or similar fields
  • Expert leadership, mentorship, and motivational skills!
  • Solid understanding of the tax function, organizational management, finance and analytics
  • Demonstrated drive for results through a history of achievements and strategy
  • History of driving sophisticated projects in the face of ambiguity
  • Demonstrated career progression with increasing responsibility over time
  • Strong orientation to team culture and cross-functionality
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail!
