Global Safety Operations Manager

About the Role

In this role you will drive strategic data analytics, monitoring dashboards and reporting, and distilling impactful insights on core safety metrics! You will work directly with members of the Global Safety Operations team to add critical analytical horsepower to ensure we're making data driven decisions and using insights to improve efficiency in a scalable and sustainable way.

You will also ensure the delivery and management of multiple projects within scope, quality, time and cost constraints that may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management in order to deliver the business outcome. Additionally, you should bring a passion for project management, relentless customer obsession, and a zeal for successfully delivering complex projects that drive business value!

What You'll Do

  • Perform Data Analyses: Deliver analysis, insights, reports, and visualizations that support global safety initiatives. You will also conduct ad-hoc analyses to support cross functional projects. Investigate the numbers to identify emerging trends and make data-driven suggestions for process improvements.
  • Manage Safety Programs and Drive Project Execution: Lead and implement a cross-disciplinary portfolio of safety projects and/or programs that often involve collaboration with partners from across the organization.
  • Monitor Safety Metrics: Monitor, maintain and improve dashboards that display key safety metrics - take advantage of the ever-growing amount of data we have at our fingertips to ensure a safe experience on the platform for all users
  • Deep Dive: Investigate safety incidents on the platform and make recommendations that align with core safety policies and standards
  • Program Management: Estimate work efforts, design project plans, define achievements and manage resources accordingly, while driving adherence and compliance with deadlines on deliverables as assigned to projects.
  • Improve Processes: Identify operational and structural weaknesses and help improve measurable impact to safety processes
  • Support: Work closely with members of the Global Safety Operations team to support ad hoc and long-term global safety initiatives

Basic Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in a related field, such as consulting, strategy, operations, or analytics
  • Exceptional SQL, Excel and data management skills. Other analytical skills a plus
  • Ability to flex your analytical skills and apply data to quantify opportunities and influence decision makers
  • Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills; proven ability to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently delivering against hard deadlines
  • Ability and experience in extracting insights from data, and summarizing findings / takeaways
  • Ability to work with remote teams and across time zones to develop strategies and cultivate a cohesive and creative work environment
  • Grittiness. You never hesitate to roll up your sleeves and take on something hands-on; you persevere when others give up
  • Strong program and project management skills with focus on metrics setting and tracking
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to express complex issues using clear language and able to prioritize while leading multiple priorities.

  • Strong storytelling: Distill exciting and hard-to-find insights into a compelling, concise narrative
  • Ability to communicate effectively and manage relationships with partners coming from both technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • Strong judgment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to solve sophisticated business problems that cross multiple areas and teams
