Director, Accounting Operations
About the Role
The Director of Accounting Operations will be responsible for the oversight of our global accounting operations. The ideal candidate will be strategic and hands on, having experience in a similar role in high growth multinational organizations consisting of multiple lines of business. This person is a seasoned leader, and developer of people, processes and technology.
What you will do
Provide strategic leadership for accounting operations, developing and managing the roadmap for accounting group on a global scale and creating solutions to support a world-class close via systems automation, local team support and an outsourced model.
Oversee the monthly closing process to assure the timely preparation of accurate financial information in accordance with US GAAP guidelines, meeting all deadlines necessary to support internal and external reporting deadlines.
Manage relationship, direction and coordination with both internal audit and external auditors. Proactively manage risks in order to avoid all significant audit issues. In the event of any audit related items and observations, ensure immediate response and remediation on a global basis.
Drive continuous improvement in the quality and timeliness of accounting information and identify and realize opportunities to further leverage financial systems. Ensure the consistency of financial statement methodologies and classification across entities, including the integration of newly acquired entities.
Be forward thinking, develop a strategy to support the growth of the business; ensure hiring and prioritization of strategic projects to align with the company's goals.
Cultivate a high performance team with broad and deep functional expertise. Foster an environment that supports individual and team growth and continuous development of innovative, best in class processes.
Define and maintain documented accounting policies and procedures.
Work with business partners to improve accuracy and timeliness of inputs for key financial processes
15+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ at a public company
5+ years in a management role
Public accounting/Big 4 Accounting experience preferable
Experience working with Oracle or other similar ERP systems
Strong Controls, US GAAP and IFRS experience
BS/BA in Accounting, CPA or Masters in relevant field preferable
High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, high-growth environment, and to lead and drive complex initiatives
Strong executive communication skills and influencing skills. Ability to build relationships
Proven track record of leadership with a keen ability and desire to mentor staff on career development
