About the Role

As the Regional Security Manager (RSM) for Brazil and South Cone, you will work closely with your team and the Director of Global Security for the Americas being responsible for the security of Uber's people, properties, and assets throughout the region. You will partner cross functionally with local and regional leadership and partners to support and execute on globally focused projects and assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all security processes and programs across the region.

We're seeking a passionate, highly motivated security professional to provide practical, physical security support to the team, handling metrics while ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity. You will provide mentorship, support and make recommendations to resolve physical security concerns. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent judgement, work well under pressure, prioritize effectively, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the globe. You will provide expertise as we work to help solve challenges that deliver significant business value. You will be an effective communicator with the ability to explain Uber's complex data in a clear and concise manner.

What You'll Do

  • Personnel security and safety / Facility security
  • Incident response / crisis management
  • Assessment and management of security risks
  • Security training and awareness for staff / vendor management
  • React promptly to any urgent security event/ incident / crisis which takes place in the AOR and lead the effort until successful resolution.
  • Lead a key role as part of Global Security that collaborates to develop enterprise wide policies/programs and create internal operating procedures
  • Be the subject matter expert on macro level security issues and trends taking place across the respective AOR; pro-actively communicate issues and recommend mitigating measures to address security concerns and enable/support business operations

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree, military, security, or law enforcement experience plus 8-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Recent hands-on experience in LATAM is mandatory and broader experience outside the region is a bonus.
  • Excellent communicator; must be articulate and persuasive with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Shown ability to work with large data and experience identifying and driving process and system improvement opportunities by monitoring metrics, analyzing data, and partnering with internal teams.
  • Crisis Management experience
  • Experience managing contract security services
  • Working knowledge of local laws and regulations that govern security, criminal, and regulatory matters as well as an established professional network of security contacts within the region
  • Portuguese and English fluency in written and verbal communication is mandatory.
  • Ability to manage security challenges in a constantly changing fast paced environment.
  • Travel required as needed to get things done
  • Ability to work long and flexible hours under pressure
