Sales Engineer, Uber Freight

About the Team

The Uber Freight sales engineering team serves as a partner to our external clients and internal sales team anticipating challenges and presenting solutions to support Uber Freight's business objectives. The Emerging Product Sales team works with our non-shipper partners. This role will be responsible for working with those partners and our internal teams to ensure the success of those products and of those partnerships.

About the Role

The Sales Engineer's primary mission to is to ensure that we are maximizing opportunities for our largest customers by deploying the most comprehensive and effective suite of Uber Freight's product solutions.

Determining the best methods to integrate these new services and features into our customer's processes and systems will continue to become more complex. The Sales Engineer will work cross functionally to create and execute on opportunities with our key customers. You will have a comprehensive knowledge of all of our products and services and be able to map those to the most promising opportunities within our customer pipeline.

What You'll Do

  • Work with sales and account management to identify product and solution opportunities for our customers; drive initiatives forward with our key accounts
  • Develop and help to sell product and solution oriented proposals
  • Works with the sales team to manage and develop opportunities and customer pipelines
  • Manage the deployment and execution of product based solutions for our accounts
  • Work with account management to ensure that product based solutions are being utilized effectively by both internal and external teams
  • Create a feedback loop with product based on customer use cases and fit
  • Help to develop sales narrative and strategies as you engage with our partners and potential partners
  • Work day to day with our active partners to collect product and operations feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Craft deal terms with new and potential partners for our emerging products
  • Analyze and develop measurements to provide insights and visibility into our performance with our partners

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with sales engineering, solutions management, systems integrations
  • A creative mindset and an ability and desire to apply new technology to old processes
  • Comfort with significant cross-functional efforts, spanning from sales to engineering
  • A strong desire to take initiative and a positive, roll-up-your-sleeve attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in applying and developing technology solutions for processes and organizations
  • Experience in a high growth environment; change and ambiguity are exciting to you versus maintaining something already fully organized
  • SQL/Data Analytics proficiency
  • Executive presence with a high degree of communication with internal/external executives and front-line engineers, analysts, and data-scientists

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have tech chops related to programming, database management, and application frameworks
  • You have experience in the freight industry and/or a high-growth operational start-up
  • Prior experience developing with Python, Java and / or other web development languages, plus SQL and data visualization as well as APIs
