Senior Front End Engineer - Uber Freight

The Freight team believes that empowering truck drivers will bring more open, efficient, and increasingly safer transportation to our roads. What You'll Do

As a Front-End engineer on the Uber Freight team, you will write client-side code for web applications used across the world to improve Uber's core logistics brokerage experience. At Uber, our teams operate our business through amazing web experiences built specifically to deliver value to customers, whether on the supply or demand side of our market. Working with backend and mobile engineers, you will create and maintain impactful tools critical to keeping Uber exciting and new, delivering value to both riders and drivers across the globe. We look for individuals who are passionate about developing impactful, high performance web applications using the latest technologies and design patterns.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points

  • Hands on product development working with product team and tech lead
  • Review code and participate in sprint deliverables
  • Responsible to think and design/refactor coding patterns
  • Maintain high bar for code quality

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Programming language (e.g. JavaScript, CSS, Node.js)

    • Architecting, building, and maintaining web applications

Technical skills:

Required:

  • API design

  • Modern javascript

  • Modern js framework

  • UX


Preferred:

  • Static typing systems

For Colorado-based roles: The salary/hourly rate range for this role is $153,900 per year - $171,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award, commissions, & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
