Senior Product Manager - Reservations Platform

About the Role

What's the future of mobility beyond "push a button, get a ride"? What if riders could reserve ride hours, days, or weeks in advance? What sort of new services and benefits could this enable for riders and drivers?

Uber has transformed the market for on-demand Mobility. We're now broadening our offerings to new markets for reservation-based services. Doing this successfully requires us to extend and innovate on our foundational pricing, matching, and logistics technology to create a new platform for reservations.

This role will partner with a cross-functional team to create the vision and strategy for our Reservations Platform. They'll then work to build a platform that delivers on critical customer needs and business goals, including:

  • Reliability - improve the reliability of reservations, beyond what's possible in on-demand mobility, to help more riders get where they need to go.
  • Efficiency - increase efficiency to provide affordable prices for riders, while maintaining attractive earnings opportunities for drivers.
  • Extensibility - design a platform that can easily scale to support new mobility use cases and serve new customer needs.
  • Scalability - together with cross-functional partners, design a platform that can effectively handle Uber scale across global markets.

They'll track success against these metrics with well-designed experiments and translate these results into measurable impact on top-line growth and bottom-line profitability. Across the product lifecycle, they'll communicate vision, prioritization, progress, and results to executive leadership and partners across the organization to build and maintain momentum.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of product management experience. A track record of partnering with engineering and data science to build complex, data-driven systems that deliver compelling customer value.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A passion to apply technology and data to change how people move.
  • Leadership Experience. Experience defining and successfully delivering on a strategy, metrics, and priorities for a product. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Strategic. You can translate ambiguous and conflicting data into a coherent product vision, multi-year strategy, and quarterly roadmap. You seek out constructive feedback and conflicting points of view and meld them into clear direction for the product.
  • Data-savvy. You find a way to get the data you need and translate it into insight and action.
  • Business-minded. You are passionate about building businesses, not features. You own user metrics but also deliver measurable impact on business performance.
  • Results-oriented. You help the team to prioritize the most impactful work to deliver against key metrics.
  • Academic background or equivalent work experience in computer science, data science, statistics, machine learning, economics, or engineering.
