Frankfurt Airport visitor information

Frankfurt am Main Airport opened in 1936 and has since grown to be one of the biggest airports in Germany, welcoming almost 70 million passengers through its doors every year. It is an important transport hub for Europe and is Germany’s largest job complex within a single location, employing around 81,000 people throughout 450 companies and organizations. The airport is located 12 kilometers (7 miles) to the southeast of Frankfurt, making it about a 15-minute trip from the city center to the airport dropoff point.

Frankfurt Airport terminals

Frankfurt Airport has 2 terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with a shuttle bus or a SkyLine train service available to navigate between them. International and domestic flights use both terminals, so check your departure terminal carefully. Frankfurt Airport is also home to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal, which is exclusively used for first-class passengers of Lufthansa.
