Bucharest Băneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport opened in 1920 and was declared a national landmark in 2011. BBU Airport has a small capacity and recorded fewer than 21,000 passengers and 15,000 aircraft movements in 2018. Each year since 2008, BBU has hosted the Bucharest International Air Show & General Aviation Exhibition, which is deemed to be the most impressive air show in Romania, welcoming worldwide guests.
