Becoming an Uber partner

What you'll need

Personal documents

Certain personal documents are required to partner with Uber. Please bring all the following personal documents and ensure they're up-to-date:

  • National Insurance Number
  • UK Plastic Driving Licence (original)
  • Electronic Counterpart code (generate this at
  • PCO Paper Licence (original)
  • Bank Statement

Vehicle documents

If you have the following documents, bring them with you when you visit. Don't have all of these? That's okay. You can upload these later.

  • PHV Licence
  • Logbook (or New Keepers slip)
  • MOT (issued within the last 6 months)
  • Private Hire Insurance Certificate

Driving in London

Accepted licences

Uber partners with Private Hire Licensed drivers. In order to drive on the Uber app, you will need a Transport for London (TfL) Private Hire License.

If you don't currently have a TfL Private Hire License but you want to get on the road with Uber sooner, you can apply for a London PCO through our Ignition programme. Click here for more details on Ignition.
