About the Role


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims or insurance professional to gain diversity in his/her career across the US & Canada handling a variety of complex claim issues. You will report to our Complex Claims Manager (US/CAN) based out of Phoenix. As a Complex Claims Advocate, you will support our growing claims operation by addressing some of the most complicated issues within claims.  If you're ready to go deep working on a rewarding set of challenges and if you've got the skills, experience, drive, and a strong team mentality - Uber on and get in touch!

What You’ll Do
  • With limited direction, ability to review complex authority and reserve requests and engage with our insurance partners to ensure that the correct behaviors are being practiced
  • Manage an inquiry response queue and be responsive to various time-demands, summons & complaints, legal inquiries, and ensure these are forwarded to the appropriate internal or external team for handling
  • Engage with various internal / external stakeholders to drive resolution on any high-severity issues that arise
  • Validates data and places the highest importance on data integrity when preparing a first notice of loss package for submission to our carrier partners
  • Maintain a working relationship with insurance litigation and be responsive to various questions they may have with respect to any on-going claims issues
  • Demonstrates a high level of insurance claims technical proficiency to ensure proper action is being taken by insurance partners and provide feedback as needed

What You'll Need

  • 4 or more years of Insurance claims experience preferably in Commercial Auto or General Liability claims handling with a strong preference for candidates with experience in complex coverage, liability and/or represented claims; Strong technical claims background preferred
  • Experience working within a high pace, growth environment
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred not required
  • Proficient computer skills required to navigate a paperless environment; Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, or Excel a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with teams from other organizations
  • Easy adaptation to changing situations, requirements or priorities
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings or weekends 

About the Team

The Complex Claims team will consist of 6 claims professionals between San Francisco and Phoenix. The team works closely with our carriers and claims analytics to handle, address and manage all high severity issues. The team will work together to ensure operational excellence, quality claims management and the delivery of superior customer service.
