About the Role



This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims leader to gain diversity in her/his career managing a global claims operations team. You will report to our Global Claims Operations Senior Manager. What You’ll Do 
  • Oversee Uber’s claims operations center in Hyderabad with primary focus on first notice of loss, inquiry management, and app period verification.  
  • Manage the overall strategic direction, leadership, and management of the team, with a focus on operational excellence, quality claim management, and customer obsession.
  • Responsible for key organizational reports related to the team’s performance.
  • In partnership with the Regional Claims Managers, create strategic direction to develop, implement and leverage data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of claim initiatives.
  • In partnership with our Claims Process team, utilize data and analytics to improve business results by targeting opportunities for process improvement.
  • Swiftly adapt to changes in volume, staffing and/or unexpected system challenges to meet expected KPIs while providing an engaged workplace
  • Develop and coach team members
  • Recognize and address performance management concerns as well as celebrate successes with team members early and often. 
  • Change gears quickly from operational needs to strategic planning and execution. 
  • Connect to the larger Claim organization becoming well versed in which partners need to be included by the situation, including operational concerns, technology challenges, data anomalies, and media concerns.  
  • Proactively keep current on changing insurance regulations, laws and evolving practices


What You’ll Need
  • 7 or more years of motor vehicle liability and personal accident claims handling experience with a strong preference for candidates with US, Canada, or UK insurance claims experience.
  • 5 years of solid leadership experience with a proven track record in coaching and development especially as a leader of leaders.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Proficient computer skills required to navigate a paperless environment.
  • High level of technical claim and legal knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Easy adaptation to changing situations, requirements or priorities.
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills to improve results; anticipate business needs and react to unforeseen circumstances

About the Team

The insurance claims team handles all of incidents that occur on the Uber platform that may results in a compensable claim. The team is responsible for collecting data, notifying the correct carrier and ensuring the carrier follows up on the claim. This team sees and manages all the claims risk to Uber around the world.
