Pour commencer

Assurance

Do I need extra insurance to deliver?

Most personal MPI auto-insurance policies for all-purpose passenger vehicles permit up to 4 days per month of commercial use. This should be indicated on your owner’s certificate. If you are active on Eats for more than 4 days per month, you will need to contract your auto-insurance broker or visit the MPI website to obtain business coverage.

If you have optional coverages (i.e. above the basic level of coverage), you should contact your auto-insurance broker or visit the MPI website to see what is allowed under your policy and if additional coverage is needed. You are responsible for ensuring that you have insurance coverage that meets compulsory requirements as well as your own coverage needs.

Are there any additional requirements I should be aware of?

Delivery partners are independent contractors and responsible for managing their business including tax and licensing obligations. As independent contractors, Manitoba Employment Standards do not apply.

Need an insulated bag? You can purchase a bag from a vendor of your choice, or from a third-party seller here.

How to prevent spills

  • Check that the container's lid is secured tightly and facing up.
  • Carefully place the food containers into the bag facing up.
  • Make sure the bag is kept flat—tipping the bag on its side or upside down can cause food to slide to the edge of the container and get messy.

That's it! Follow these 3 simple guidelines to help hungry Winnipeg eaters fully enjoy the meals they've been craving.
