At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.
We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.
About the Role
As a Communications Intern at Uber Germany, you’ll work as part of a small team, passionate to tell the story of Uber and ridesharing —including products like UberX, UberTaxi and UberGreen as well as the Jump ebike— to German media, (local and nationwide, online, print and broadcast).
What You’ll Do
Help establishing Uber’s brand and profile with the media by telling our story— the story of ridesharing including UberX, UberTaxi and UberGreen as well as Jump ebikes —in creative, inspiring ways that resonate with journalists and on social media
Help to organize internal workflows
Prepare internal reportings and briefings
Draft compelling press texts like press releases, news blog posts, backgrounders or product stories
Participate in combining crisis management with running proactive comms projects
Help running a busy press office and organizing press events
Work cross-functional with especially our marketing, policy and operations teams
Work with our external agencies and suppliers
What you’ll need to succeed
Written and spoken fluency in English & German
Availability for 6 months full time in 2019 starting in May or Jun
Passion for Communications and Public Relations
Bring a good understanding of the German media landscape, of our media's agenda, needs and interests
Take responsibility for own projects and work as a self starter with the assistance of your team: Uber is a company of entrepreneurs and we want to work with people who enjoy building things from the bottom up too
Act as a team player: Success at Uber depends on the ability to organize different teams (internally and externally) around shared goals. It’s why we’re looking for well organized people who enjoy working with others to get stuff done—and who can deal with the ambiguity that sometimes comes from working cross-functionally.
Currently enrolled in a Masters or Undergraduate degree
End of studies internship favourable: Last internship of studies in engineering school, business school or university, with previous internship experience (startup, analytics, banking, consulting)
Ideally you bring first experiences in communications, PR, journalism or marketing communications, combined with an interest in the German mobility market.
