About the Role

 

Our Financial Operations (FinOps) team is looking to add a hands-on, details-oriented Senior Cash Accounting/Payments Specialist to join the P2P team, role based in Mexico City. We are looking for someone who has a strong analytical mindset, advanced knowledge of cash accounting process and systems, with a solid understanding of developing dashboards and communicating data. Additional activities will include supporting the payments procedure in the region. Critical to this role will be the ability to provide ongoing support to our business partners and stakeholders involved in the Cash Accounting process, reporting on and monitoring the overall status and quality of work being performed, and playing a central/hands-on role to keep our deliverables on track (Journal Entry review/posting; Month end Reconciliation review; Audit tasks/activities, etc).

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the Cash Accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely output with our external Business Process Outsource (BPO) team
  • Review and approve/post Journal Entries for Cash Reconciliation
  • Monthly reconciliation review (Bank/Cash in Transit), including completeness/accuracy (100% reconciliations on-time)
  • Analysis of the operations performed by BPO to drive efficiency and excellence
  • Lead on overall delivery of audit requests for the region (LATAM/Americas)
  • Lead on delivery of reconciliations for the audit team
  • Desktop Procedure (DTP) management, ensure comprehensive DTP are maintained and kept current
  • Support the local payment operations
  • Along with other Member of the GPO team, take a leading role in:
    • The design, implementation, and optimization of global P2C processes
    • The implementation of workflows & processes to ensure timely & accurate payment processing and cash application/reconciliation, in line with payment terms
    • The development of business requirements documents to build and implement solutions, aligning upstream and downstream processes
    • The creation of controls & ensure they are operating effectively, conforming to all legal, regulatory, accounting and tax requirements, including compliance with corporate policies, local statutory requirements and Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Ensure SLA metrics are met & well managed with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with other functions (e.g. Accounting, Systems, Treasury, the Business) to proactively manage and resolve business and operational issues in an innovative, collaborative and effective manner.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 4-5 years of progressive experience in Cash Accounting, with additional experience in Financial Payment and/or Treasury teams, preferably in a global/international environment is expected, but we will consider candidates with less experience if they meet our other requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of the procure-to-pay process and a strong understanding of the underlying accounting
  • Proven ability to align a diverse group of stakeholders and vendors with seemingly conflicting priorities
  • Experience in a fast growing company with a focus on execution
  • Excellent technical/systems knowledge such as ERP (Oracle), Procurement tools (Coupa) and International Banking platforms
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong in process improvement & methodology
  • Excellent organization skills with attention to detail and completeness
  • Hands-on, strong work ethic and can-do attitude
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish and English
