About the Role

 

The Uber FinOps team is building its Robotic Process Automation Center of Excellence and is looking for a hands-on, details-oriented Operations Lead.

 

The Operations Lead is responsible for Intelligent Automation (IA) delivery oversight from a technology perspective. The role is responsible for the delivery of automations that are secure, efficient, and accurate. The role also manages hardware, software, and access related to IA. This Lead will manage a support team responsible for designing and building a global automation infrastructure; delivering the automation; building the automation pipeline from a technology lens; and scaling IA globally for Uber. S/he will work in collaboration with the other technology stakeholders at Uber.

 

The Operations lead will report in to the COE leader.

  • Oversee bot management in accordance with the agreed service level agreements (SLAs) to achieve a consistent high standard of operations
  • Manage the automated processes on a daily basis to ensure they are scheduled in line with business requirements and that exceptions, referrals and system outages are handled appropriately
  • Engage with business and function leads to identify and prioritize optimization of deployed automations
  • Liaise with IT leaders to ensure that the services, support and security for the technical environment scales in line with RPA growth
  • Understand system and business change cycles and release schedules to ensure automated processes are proactively amended to avoid impact
  • Track, monitor and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure usage and business benefit
  • Create and execute escalation mechanisms for the effective removal of bot blockers and defects
  • Identify and manage risks and dependencies and effectively manage these across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Build/support and maintain Bot platform. Manage VTM/patches and adhere to proper risk and control items.

 

What You’ll Need
 
  • 5 Minimum Years of Experience as technical operations lead for Intelligent Automation (IA)
  • 2+ years experience with RPA technologies.
  • Windows environment - including SQL server, & IIS (MS Internet Information Server) - experience
  • Architectural and design knowledge.
  • IA infrastructure building experience.
  • End-to-end IA design/build/delivery.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, measure, and report on bots.
  • Ability to scratch build frameworks, processes and change management for a fast-growing FinOps IA group: This is an opportunity to leverage your background and experience in a rare green field situation. High impact!
  • Experience scaling to hundreds of bots!
  • Proven cross-functional stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing others.
  • Systems release management experience.
