About the Role
In this challenging role you will have an impact on the way the accounting team is built, manufacturing processes and systems are implemented and the business expands globally. You are a technical accountant expert but also savvy operationally to ensure optimal and efficient operations in a controls environment.
What You’ll Do
This is a challenging role offering the opportunity to build Uber’s manufacturing accounting practice from the ground up.
Role will initially focus on establishing the cost accounting process for new products including, but not limited to: account set up, inventory and spare part management, supply chain management
Design and implement best in class systems, processes and controls for manufacturing accounting to support regulatory and accounting compliance.
Develop effective and efficient month end close process as it relates to inventory and cost accounting processes
Technical accounting expert and decision maker on manufacturing policy and procedures. Develop, document, implement and monitor cost accounting policies and procedures.
Drive cycle count and annual physical inventory internal audit, and support annual external audits
Develop, maintain, and improve inventory records and cost accounting data in accordance with US GAAP and SOX internal control requirements
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs to influence management to make the best business decisions.
Perform financial statement analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations to assist management with business decisions
Develop and implement process improvements, document desktop procedures, and processes to achieve efficiencies
Lead accurate and timely reporting during the month-end close process
Serve as primary point of contact and liaison for audit requests.
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA, CMA or equivalent
5+ years of relevant leadership work experience in public accounting and/or a high tech organization
Excellent leadership skills with collaborative working style and ability to work cross functionally
Ability to self-manage and execute in unstructured environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and drive sound business decisions
Proven track record of increased responsibilities and scope
Solid knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements.
Strong program management and organization skills with an ability to plan and perform multiple tasks
Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred
About the Team
We build scalable & controlled processes and help implement accounting systems and automation for our Global Accounting function.
