On-demand aviation has the potential to radically improve urban mobility, giving people back time lost in their daily commutes. Just as skyscrapers allowed cities to use limited land more efficiently, urban air transportation will use three-dimensional airspace to alleviate transportation congestion on the ground. A network of small, electric aircraft that take off and land vertically (called VTOL aircraft for Vertical Take-off and Landing, and pronounced vee-tol), will enable rapid, reliable transportation between suburbs and cities and, ultimately, within cities. These vehicles will be managed by a highly automated set of complex services called the Elevate Cloud Services (ECS). We are looking for someone to own product management for the Elevate Cloud Services, based in San Francisco/Palo Alto.

Responsible for producing the standards, procedures, and training for UAS operations while reducing operational risk. Set the framework for Uber’s aviation operations with a mindset for scalability.

The Product Manager for Aviation Infrastructure will own the end-to-end conception, design, siting, regulatory approval, build-out, and maintenance for all physical infrastructure within the global Uber Air network. This role predominantly focuses on dense, urban “Skyports” (takeoff, landing, and charging facilities for Uber Air eVTOL aircraft), in addition to all their supporting physical infrastructure, e.g. maintenance facilities, hangar space, and recharging facilities.

The Senior Engineering Manager for Battery will be responsible for driving the daily activities to meet the overall program objectives and focus on process within the product’s definition and engineering design cycles

The candidate will oversee testing of lithium ion batteries in many ways. Electrical performance testing and abuse/safety testing will be key aspects of this role. This candidate should be expected to be hands on but also be able to analyze data and contribute recommendations to the design team. Ability to conceive of and design fixtures for proposed testing

Manage battery life modeling and prediction; and execute necessary testing.

The Systems Modeling Lead will be responsible for leading the development of simulation-based models, serving both Uber Elevate and JUMP functions, with a focus on understanding total cost of ownership of a vehicle basis throughout its life, as can be impacted by the vehicle powertrain.

Work to tackle challenges through development of novel materials or novel uses of existing materials in the area of thermal systems engineering and battery safety/propagation prevention.

The backend engineer will focus on developing systems that power the operation of Uber’s airspace systems for UberAIR (passenger-carrying) aircraft and potentially Drone Delivery operations.

The Engineering Manager for Airspace Platform will focus on our initiative to create Uber’s airspace services for Elevate flight operations.

The Data Science Manager for Elevate will lead our team of world class data scientists, and focus on conducting cutting-edge research. The team is responsible for making data-driven business recommendations by building, leveraging and enhancing simulation, tooling and experimentation software.

As Elevate's first Launch Manager you will have the unique opportunity to lay the groundwork for urban aviation in two US launch markets. You will solidify key enabling relationships, expertly navigate complex regulatory issues and build the operational foundation to ensure the successful launch of Uber Air.

The frontend engineer will focus on developing tools to understand and improve the operation of Uber's airspace systems for UberAIR (passenger-carrying) aircraft and potentially Drone Delivery operations.

The Android engineer will focus on developing products that deliver the end-user experience for UberAIR (passenger-carrying) and Drone Delivery (food-carrying) operations.
