About the role

A high performing Immigration program is a key element in the rapid expansion and global growth at Uber. We need someone passionate about all things Immigration to manage and oversee our US and Canada immigration program. We'll need you to have both strategic and hands-on regional immigration experience, as well as a mix of entrepreneurial and large, high-growth company experience. This position is a great opportunity to lead the vision and direction of a rapidly growing strategic program in a booming, constantly changing environment.

 

The US/CA Immigration Manager will be a key member of our Global Mobility team. This is a regional leadership role on a highly collaborative, dynamic and growing team looking to deliver efficient and high-quality service. The immigration team’s mission is to provide world-class customer support to employees and internal stakeholders. Delivering this caliber of support isn’t easy - it takes a leader who can understand Uber’s operations, adapt to our constantly changing business, and help solve problems where no solution currently exists. The right person is ready to make data-backed decisions in a high-stakes, high-speed environment. You are passionate about operational excellence, improving stakeholder experience, solving problems, and love getting in the weeds on any and all issues.  

 

What You’ll Need

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 8 years of immigration experience (minimum 3 years of US/CA specific experience a plus)
  • Experience building and managing a high-performing team
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Strong operational and analytical aptitude
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • You’re innovative, creative and constantly looking for ways to tweak and optimize a process

 

What You’ll Do

 

 

  • Develop the vision and strategy of the US/CA Immigration program
  • Lead and manage a team. Coach, counsel, and develop team members to position them for success. 
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior leaders
  • Own the business relationship with Uber’s US/CA immigration vendors - responsible for defining vendor strategy, vendor relationship, vendor governance, and service delivery for US/CA.
  • Strategize risk mitigation and control of new legislation in US/CA
  • Provide timely, in-depth and comprehensive forecasts, projections and data to the US/CA leadership team
  • Analytically drive the metrics used to evaluate the US/CA Immigration team’s performance, including speed, efficiency, quality, and thoroughness to meet objectives. 
  • Demonstrate a management style that encourages participation and ownership, along with a continuous focus on action, customer satisfaction, and personnel satisfaction.
  • Ensure that employees and internal stakeholders consistently receive high-quality, emotionally intelligent support, and contribute to the build of systems to deliver it efficiency.
