About the Role

 

Global Workplace and Real Estate at Uber strives to create cost-effective and timely execution of initiatives while partnering with the business in order to enhance the employee experience and foster thoughtful and engaging workspaces.

What You’ll Do


As a LATAM Facilities Manager you will play a lead role in the development and delivery of excellent facility management services across a vast and varied portfolio of real estate across LATAM. You will work with outsourced vendors and a central and remote team of employees to manage efficient facilities solutions that enhance Uber’s productivity and the ability to achieve business goals.


  • Team Leadership
    • Manage and inspire your team every day.
    • Search for best practices, manage change, promote continuous improvement and provide the rules & tools necessary for your team necessary to do their best work.
    • Develop, implement and evaluate policies, procedures and practices that support the performance of the entire facility organization.
    • Develop, manage and oversee various relationships (suppliers, community, business partners, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance (safety, finance, etc.).
  • Operations & Maintenance
    • Oversee all facility operations (soft services) and maintenance activities (hard services) for the region. This includes service design, scoping services, contracting, developing templates, deliver finances (budget & lifecycle costs) and reporting.
    • Soft services: food services, security, janitorial, events, landscaping, reception services, etc.
    • Hard services: mechanical, engineering and plumbing, HVAC, building installations etc.
    • Communication: develops and manages excellent communication strategy and execution in collaboration with peers in other regions to ensure cohesive comms across our facilities portfolio.
    • Risk Management: business continuity and safety.
  • Vendor Management
    • Building and maintaining a multidisciplinary relationship with regional vendors.
    • Procurement strategy: be the driver for the region.
    • Tendering and bids: regionally responsible for leading this effort with the third party facilities team.
    • Develop, review and compare performance metrics for facility management services, including benchmarking, service response, resolution times, satisfaction, etc.
    • Establish and manage key performance indicators at regional level with vendors.
    • Establish and manage service level agreements at regional level with vendors.
  • Information and Knowledge Management
    • Collect, verify, analyze and report facility management data regionally.
    • Implement, use and guide change to utilizing Facility Management technology as part of an integrated E2E workplace technology suite.
    • Data steward: lead the team in delivering accurate data.
    • Develop & Present management information.
  • Financial management
    • Manage and oversee the financial management (budget) of the regional facility organization.
    • Manage the finances associated with regional supplier contracts.
    • Manage the team’s procurement and chargeback procedures in conjunction with chargeback.
    • Financial risk management.
  • Interfacing with other teams
    • Alignment with Security and IT partners on a regional level.
    • Alignment with global ‘’ domain experts’’ and local domain counterparts:
    • EHS: Ensure coordination, collaboration and implementation of EHS standards across the region.
    • Space management: Partner with Facilities and Space Planning leadership to develop a regional workplace strategy and objectives to ensure effective scalability.
    • CRM: Ensure close collaboration and communicate proactively with business leadership on process change, service improvement or other high level impacts to specific sites.
    • CRM: Works with regional workplace leadership and CRM lead to understand business goals in order to predict facility management needs.
    • Facility Management: Collaborate with global domain experts and regional teams.
    • Transaction Management: Collaborate with the global Transaction Management team and regional real estate efforts as necessary. Particularly when it comes to calculating Total Cost of Occupancy.
    • Project Management: Collaborate with global Project Management team and regional PM team as necessary. Particularly when it comes to hand-off between construction and operation phases.

 

What You’ll Need


    • Experience in Mexico and other LATAM countries 
    • Bachelor/Master studies in the CRE field and/or in business studies
    • A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Facilities Manager working with regional facility management teams
    • International Facility Management Association (IFMA) and CORENET certification
    • Demonstrated experience in strategic facilities management planning, adapting strategies to local markets, and lead implementations
    • Solid experience leading high-performance work teams and strong communication skills at an Executive level
    • Solid knowledge of change management methods/principles
    • Experience working on both the client and supplier side; as both technical knowledge and strong customer service orientation is required
    • Fluent English is required
    • Fluent Portuguese is a strong plus

Bonus Point if

 

    • Experience using FMIS or CAFM systems that are part of an integrated E2E enterprise solution.
