Excited about leading a team of HR consultants that work closely with HRBPs and the business?  Are you a demonstrated strategist, project manager, team player, organizer, and executor? If so, then the Senior Manager, People Strategy and Planning role might be the perfect match for you.


We are looking for a strong leader to work across the People organization helping to drive strategic talent initiatives, and think innovatively to drive programs that will ultimately improve the company and the employee experience.  


As a people manager, you will lead a global team of strategists who help the HR Leader in each region or function prioritize their people initiatives, give input into the design of central people projects, and help execute in the region.  You are motivated to lead through challenges, get creative when faced with ambiguity, and can move quickly as a builder and do'er in a fast and growing environment.


What You’ll Do
  • Lead a team of HR consultants that work with leaders across People & Places,  Business Functions, and Regions to identify key organizational initiatives and projects
  • Manage and coach a team on influencing key stakeholders, thinking through competing priorities, and change management
  • Act as key partner to the VP, Human Resources to execute on strategic initiatives
  • Partner with People Analysts to define, build, and launch scalable solutions that are grounded in data
  • Lead projects from discovery and design through to completion - develop the project plan, lead all the meetings, and drive to results
  • Identify operational weaknesses and help improve or innovate people programs and processes to keep them as effective and efficient as possible (i.e., Org Design, talent strategies, Recruiting efficiencies, etc)
  • Communicate findings through artful storytelling - taking recommendations on critical initiatives and guiding Leaders to take action on those findings 
What You’ll Need
  • BA/BS/Masters in Business, HR, Economics, or other business operations focus (MBA a plus)
  • At least 7-10 years of management consulting experience or experience in an HR Business Partner / HR strategy role (high-growth or tech environments are a plus)
  • Experience as a people manager (managing a remote team is a plus, but not required)
  • Detail orientation - your calendar can be crammed, but it's organized, manageable and you don't miss a beat
  • Presentation skills - you have the ability to tell a meaningful story with a few key slides
  • Strategic mindset - you're comfortable thinking one week, one month, or one year ahead of where the team is now
  • Self-starter attitude - you boldly pursue your work and love the responsibility of being personally empowered
  • Curiosity - you're innovative, creative, and constantly looking for opportunities to tweak and optimize


About the Team


Our People Strategy & Planning team defines and drives the most critical initiatives on the People agenda.  We work cross functionally and collaboratively with many different teams at Uber, while also serving as internal consultants to various stakeholders and leaders.


We are nimble and flexible - individuals that can wear many different hats. We don’t mind working through ambiguity and love adding organization to chaos. We are strategy driven, with an execution mindset. Success is not defined by any one individual, but rather by the collective work of the entire team.
