About the Role

The People Development Business Partner will join the PD org and work with business partners   to consult and deliver on Uber’s people and organizational development needs. The learning expertise  and learning solutions you help provide the business will benefit managers, teams and individual contributors. Successful candidates will be passionate about learning and development that supports people in ways that help Uber be successful. If you love learning and working with  people from around the world while moving fast and being creative, this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with business and HR leadership to diagnose learning and development needs and design extraordinary solutions
  • Bring hands-on experience in adult learning and people development areas e.g. learning needs analysis and evaluation
  • Shape and leverage L&D KPIs, company and learner data, and business feedback to iterate and improve existing programs in ways that drive impact and efficiency
  • Demonstrate the impact and efficacy of learning initiatives for the business
  • Strategize, plan and design alongside Uber learning orgs and across learning life-cycles for managers, teams and individual contributors to meet current and future business needs
  • Wear strategy and execution hats simultaneously
  • Own and guide the direction for the People Development initiatives you lead
  • Shape big-picture views of how to assess, iterate and improve learning experience
  • Help guide and deliver on operational details
  • Cultivate deep understanding of the Uber learner experience and how it impacts business priorities and objectives
  • Facilitate live and virtual programs in a way that is tailored and relevant to each audience
  • Manage diverse sets of partners across Uber’s People teams to get work done fast and in a way that is relevant

 

What You’ll Need

  • BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience in L&D for adult professionals
  • 6+ years of experience in talent development, organizational development, professional development, adult learning, or other related people field
  • Experience designing and leading onsite and online L&D initiatives
  • Experience with owning business outcomes for L&D initiatives
  • Proven ability to get things done in a highly matrixed and relationship-based organization
  • Proven skills with managing multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment and the ability to work to tight timescales
  • Strong curiosity and the ability to innovate and creatively look for ways strengthen processes and outcomes
  • High comfort level with navigating through systems and tools to constantly uncover potential operational efficiencies
  • Proven dedication to continuous learning and a practice of consistently striving to be better than your last best self

 

Bonus Points If

  • have designed and delivered learning initiatives for a global team
  • have led a program or project team
  • have worked directly with HR Partners and/or business leaders
  • have a network of trusted L&D vendors who can design, develop and deliver learning
  • are certified in psychometric assessments (specifically DiSC or SDI) or development programs (e.g. Situational Leadership)
  • have a graduate degree in adult learning, organizational development, organizational behavior, industrial-organizational psychology, or human resources
