About the Role
You'll lead a team and oversee the overall workflow of Uber Freight’s Instructional Design team, consisting of capabilities spanning instructional design, copywriting, editing, visual design, and multi-media production. This team creates and develops rich, immersive content that reaches thousands of employees around the world -- from new employees to seasoned managers. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where your creativity and ability to collaborate shines. You obsess over quality, but know how to quickly launch strong content to the business. You are able to coach others to develop impactful, effective, and consistently designed content that connects with Uber Freight’s unique learners.
What you’ll do
Lead a team that scopes, designs, and develops learning products, including assets and assessments, to support a variety of delivery types, including self-paced, mobile, video, podcast, webinar and leader-led, focusing on digital and blended content creation
Manage and guide stakeholders through the collaborative design process, liaising with program managers and the technology team to ensure effective design, development, implementation, feedback loop
Serve as the senior point of contact for the instructional design and content team
Leverage learning analytics and user feedback to recommend improvements for each design cycle
Establish and improve team standards and production processes
Find new ways to produce content that scales and resonates with our increasingly global, busy audience

Write communications copy that is elegant, clear, concise, persuasive that excites engages and inspires readers
Create briefs and collaborate with business and L&D program stakeholders, ensuring content reflects needs and requirements
Continue to build and nurture a team, empowering them to assume ownership of their work
Coach, advise and support employees on their work and professional growth, as needed
What you'll need
At least 10 years of instructional design, writing, editing and content management experience in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment
5+ years of experience in leading teams and managing people
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline. Advanced degree or certifications a bonus
Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables under demanding and varied timelines
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and development theory and best practice
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, managing input while owning and driving the development timeline forward
Ability to translate data from feedback to improvements to both content and process
Passionate about the learner experience and how to make it better
About the Team
The Uber Freight training team is responsible for the alignment and development of the Uber Freight organization. We deliver training to all levels of employees and work together to ensure all employees are empowered to do their jobs successfully. This is a group of learning professionals with roles ranging from instructional design, to video design, coaching, and facilitation.
