About the role


Working within the Eats LatAm S&P Analytics & Insights team, you will work together with cross functional teams to build tools, models for insights, analyses and ideas that will be the driving force behind key projects implemented by the central operations team. You will be a thought partner to central operations, marketing and regional stakeholders on things like marketplace efficiency optimisation, courier payout optimisation, and customer experience improvement.

What You’ll Do


  • Analytics & Insights: Passionate about deciphering huge data sets and cutting through irrelevant distractions to the heart of core data questions
  • Play a role in shaping the Eats Central Operations team, and help define the strategy and vision for the marketplace in LatAm.
  • Be insight driven, looking at data to find key insights and trends
  • Design and scale regional tools and processes aimed at optimising courier incentives, marketplace efficiency and product experience
  • Model Data, build cool models with this data, when time for longer term projects. This is wide ranging & could include payout optimisation for couriers, predictors of churn, indicators of fraud
  • Other Econometrics: There might be an opportunity to adapt the US Media Mix Model for LatAm
  • Coordinate with other members of the Uber Team to design experiments & measure their impact
  • Work with local Ops, Product, Engineering and functional teams to build products & processes that will improve our analytics capabilities, be the voice of LatAm for all related matters


What You’ll Need


  • Bachelors in Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or other quant. focus
  • Minimum of 1 year of analytical and executional operations experience; high-growth analytics or operations experience but we will consider candidates with less experience if they meet our other requirements
  • Professional proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Data driven decision making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking and experimentation
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Team player who is comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience interpreting and presenting data to various audiences as well as designing and building awe-inspiring tools; ability to translate quantitative findings into action plans
  • Stellar SQL capabilities; experience with R/Python is a plus
  • Ideal candidate brings some impressive know-how (and the understanding that there’s always more to learn). Above all be practical minded (balancing practicality with academic rigour)
