Election day is around the corner and it’s almost time to cast your vote!
Uber celebrates the cities we serve, and one of the best ways to engage with our communities is to encourage both riders and drivers to vote. On 8 May 2019, we all have some big decisions to make for the general elections in South Africa. One thing you shouldn’t have to worry about is how you’ll be getting to the polling station!
This is why we’ve joined hands with the IEC and the Nelson Mandela Foundation in giving all riders R25 off trips to and from voting stations in Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban & Port Elizabeth on Wednesday, 8 May 2019.
Tick the boxes and get riding:
- Open the Uber app
- Go to ‘Payment’ on the app Menu
- Under ‘Promotions’, click on ‘Add Promo’
- Enter VOTESA19 and click on the ‘Add’ button
- When you’re ready to get voting on Election Day, request a ride as usual
- Get up to R25 off your trips to and from your polling station.
