Ed Sheeran is almost here, and, we’re here to help ensure that you don’t miss a beat! If you’re planning on riding with Uber to watch everyone’s favourite pop star hit those perfect notes at FNB Stadium, here’s what you need to know.

How to request a ride
When it’s time to head home, please exit the FNB Stadium and follow the signs to the pickup zone (please map below) where you can request a ride and wait for your driver. There’ll be security personnel stationed at the designated UberZONE’s, as well as Uber brand ambassadors who’ll provide assistance if you’re struggling to find your ride.

Try Uber Lite
With so many people using their cellphones in the same area, it’s easy for networks to get overloaded. If you’re worried about your cell phone connection, why not download the Uber Lite app which is designed to work in low connectivity areas.
This simpler version of the Uber app works on any android phone, while saving storage space and data!

Patience is key
The crowds will be big, so please be patient! You can expect some delays coming in and out of the venue, so please give yourself some extra time. We’ve been working with ESSPC to ensure they provide free traffic flows in and out of the pickup zone, and have communicated the event logistics to driver-partners so that your experience is as smooth as possible.

Confused about dynamic pricing?
Did you know dynamic pricing ensures there are cars available whenever you open the app? During large events like these, this feature encourages more driver-partners to move into the specific area and stay on late into the night to cater to the increased demand. When demand and supply are in line, prices quickly return to normal.

Check the details
Make sure you check your trip details in app and get into the correct vehicle, with the correct driver! Be sure to:
– Check that the vehicle make and car colour matches the one in-app
– Identify the registration plate and cross-check within the app
– Confirm your driver’s name and picture

Let loved ones know where you are
Enjoy the convenience of letting your friends and family know that you’re on your way! Safety is our #1 priority so we recommend that you always share your ride and location via the “share trip status” button.
We encourage you to use the designated Uber pick-up zones at the end of your night to ensure a smoother experience! To find out more information on Uber’s safety features, please visit www.uber.com/en-ZA/ride/safety.
