The effects of last week’s unrest in Durban have left many in need of a way to move around with more confidence and to get help from their community.
To help the Durban community start to rebuild, we’re offering you 2 free rides (up to R100 per trip) from Friday, 23 July 2021 to Sunday, 25 July 2021. If you’re in the city of Durban, you will be automatically eligible for this discount, but should the discount not be visible in the “Promotions” section of your Uber app, you can enter the promo code HELPKZN212.
Whether you’re getting essential goods, helping a small business start to rebuild, or supporting a local establishment – we want you to be able to move around with ease.
How to add a promo code:
- Open your Uber app
- From the app menu, select “Wallet”
- Scroll down to “Promotions.”
- Tap “Add promo code”
- Enter the code and tap “Add”
- Enter your destination and request a ride as usual
This promotion will also support drivers by helping to ensure they can put back much-needed earnings into their pockets. As all promotions are funded by Uber, drivers will still receive their portion of the trip fare – despite the promotion. We also encourage you to tip your driver to show your appreciation. For more information on tipping, please find out more here.
Offer applies to the first 100 000 users who apply the promotion code. Offer applies to existing users of the Uber App. Valid for up to 2 trips only. Offer valid from 23 July 2021 and, regardless of when the promotional code is applied, the offer will automatically terminate at 23:59 on 25 July 2021. Restrictions: (i) Offer valid in Durban, South Africa only and is subject to availability and; (ii) Maximum discount for this Offer is R100 per trip. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Uber reserves the right to amend or withdraw this Offer either partially or in its entirety at any time in its sole discretion.
