We understand there are moments when you may accidentally request a pick-up from the wrong address. Sometimes, this experience begins with a phone call and ends with a cancelled ride.
As of today, we’re rolling out an exciting new feature called Pickup Correction in South Africa, which allows you to modify your pickup location while your driver is on the way! This tweak is designed to save time, frustration and money, by giving you more control in those moments when things don’t go exactly as planned.
How it works:
- Open your Uber app and request a ride as normal
- Once your driver is en route, tap “Edit” next to your pickup location
- Enter your new pickup address or move the pickup pin
- Tap “Confirm”
- Your driver will be notified of the new location with an updated route
Please note that you can only edit your location within a specified radius (as seen in the above image).
The pickup is a core part of the Uber experience, and we’re always looking for ways to improve this for both riders and driver-partners.
