About the Role
This Accounting Manager will have an impact on the way the accounting team is built, data center operations, processes and systems are implemented and the business expands globally. You are a technical accountant expert but also savvy operationally to ensure optimal and efficient operations in a controls environment.
What You'll Do
This is a challenging role offering the opportunity to build Uber’s data center accounting practice from the ground up
Design and implement best in class systems, processes and controls for data center accounting to support regulatory and accounting compliance
Develop effective and efficient month end close process as it relates to data center and capital leases
Technical accounting expert and decision maker on policy and procedures. Develop, document, implement and monitor operational accounting policies and procedures
Continuously strive for operational excellence - never settling for status quo. Ruthless prioritization to ensure operational effectiveness in a SOX environment while maintaining agility
Serve as primary point of contact and liaison for audit requests
Support R & D activities and new product development trials and launches
Perform financial statement analysis and document meaningful explanations for fluctuations to assist management with business decisions
Develop and implement process improvements, document desktop procedures, and processes to achieve efficiencies
Assist in communication with international entities and consolidations
Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility
Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
Assist executive leadership teams with special projects, research and supplemental reporting
What You'll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA/CA or equivalent
5+ years of relevant leadership work experience in public accounting and/or a high tech organization
Excellent leadership skills with collaborative working style and ability to work cross functionally
Ability to self-manage and execute in unstructured environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and drive sound business decisions
Proven track record of increased responsibilities and scope
Solid knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements.
Strong program management and organization skills with an ability to plan and perform multiple tasks
Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires the in-depth evaluation of numerous factors
Experience with Oracle R12 or another large scale ERP is preferred
