About the Role

At Uber ATG we're on a mission to build the best team in technology. A large part of that is building the future leaders of our org. Our Rotational Product Manager (RPM) program is geared towards those early in their product careers, or those making their first transition into product management. RPM's complete 18 months of rotations at ATG during which they are mentored, trained, and educated in our efforts to bring a new era of technology to market. Rotations are determined through a combination of the candidates skills, personal interests of the candidate, and business need. At the conclusion of 18 months you'll take ownership of a team/product.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the product vision for products at ATG
  • Define the roadmap for internal tools and data products and other products at ATF
  • Receive Feedback and Mentorship
  • Ramp up, Deliver impact and Handoff projects in a short span of time.
  • Develop key performance indicators for your product areas
  • Collaborate closely with engineering counterparts to lead high-performing, customer-centric delivery teams
  • Own the touchpoints with customers inside the organization (Safety, Software, Hardware, Product, Systems Engineering and others)

 

What You’ll Need

  • Computer science undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Excel at problems with high ambiguity
  • Be able to understand technical concepts for the most advanced technologies on the planet. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience leading presentations to executives and large groups of people
  • Experience with a variety of development processes, including agile / lean startup
  • Deep passion for Uber’s mission and self-driving vehicles

Bonus Points If

  • Experience with autonomous systems of any kind 
  • Experience building machine learning based products or developer tools 
  • Masters or PhD in computer science or equivalent field (with focus on, artificial intelligence/robotics)
  • Professional experience as a software engineer

This program is designed to create the next generation of product leaders in the Autonomous Vehicles space, a great opportunity to make a transition to not just product, but to PMing some of the technologies that will be the foundation of technology in the decades to come.
