About the Role
Uber’s global Safety & Insurance business organization is responsible for further developing, creating and constantly innovating on processes and products to ensure Uber continues to raise the bar on safety for riders and drivers. This is an excellent opportunity for an intellectually-curious actuary to make impact in Uber's insurance team. This position will be based at Uber’s HQ in San Francisco and focus on supporting Uber's domestic insurance programs. What You’ll Do
Provide strong actuarial support for the evaluation of domestic casualty coverages
Utilize SQL, R, and/or Python to build automated price and reserve monitoring
Integrate innovative actuarial modeling and methodology with traditional techniques to accurately measure risk and deliver business insights
Translate complex actuarial analyses and conclusions into meaningful business impacts
Identify opportunities for insurance cost savings through risk segmentation and efficient policy structures
Communicate/present analysis findings to actuarial leadership and other internal stakeholders including risk managers, finance, and operations teams.
What You’ll Need
Candidate with ACAS/FCAS and at least 4 years of P&C actuarial experience
BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar
Personal or commercial auto insurance experience a plus
Ability to independently drive unique actuarial analyses
Excellent Excel skills, proficient with SQL, experience with VBA, R, or Python preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to effectively present technical topics to insurance leadership
Great organization skills, ability to multitask, manage multiple stakeholders, and be a team player
