Today, Uber announced that riders in Morocco will be able to request reliable and convenient everyday trips through the Uber app. The app will first be available in Marrakech and Casablanca, and exclusively with licensed transportation vehicles, with more cities planned in the future. Uber’s technology will complement existing modes of transport, by facilitating access to rides at the push of a button, for residents and the millions of tourists who visit the country annually.

As Morocco strengthens its focus on the mobility landscape and prepares for major global events, Uber’s presence is strategically timed for it to be the country’s partner of choice for digital transformation in realizing its national vision. Uber will support the mobility sector and boost tourism through its technology’s innovative solutions, introducing reliability and familiarity for international tourists. This commitment is underpinned by Uber’s global expertise as a technology company, exemplified during major global events including the most recent FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where Uber facilitated over 2.6 million trips in just four weeks, including nearly half a million to and from stadiums, through the implementation of dedicated pick-up and drop-off zones.

Riders in Marrakesh and Casablanca, as of today, can request a trip easily through the Uber app, and choose between UberX or UberXL, depending on their commuting needs. Simplifying how they move in and around the city, while benefiting from a number of features that enhance their everyday mobility, including multiple destinations, scheduled rides, digital cashless payments, and support from Uber’s 24/7 global incident response team.
