Phone Anonymisation in Kenya: An Update

October 11, 2018 / Kenya

We’re committed to your safety and are always working towards building a better experience before, during and after every trip.

Part of this was the introduction of phone anonymisation in Kenya, so that riders and drivers could get in touch with each other – while always preserving their safety and privacy. Through your feedback, we’ve identified some technical issues with the feature, which our team is busy trying to resolve.

In order to offer you the high-quality service and app experience that you expect from Uber, we’re temporarily turning off the phone anonymisation feature from 10 October 2018. We remain committed to your safety, and will continue to keep you updated until this technology issue has been fixed.
