For the past few weeks, we’ve been urging our riders to stay home so we can support the government in containing the spread of COVID-19. During this time, we’ve focused our efforts to #MoveWhatMatters, such as transporting frontline healthcare workers, assisting citizens access essential services and delivering essential supplies to thousands of homes.

In compliance with Lockdown 4.0 guidelines by the Government, Uber is resuming services across more cities in India. Riders will constantly be notified with further information and the status of specific cities through our app.

If you are in any of the following cities, open the Uber app to choose from available products in your area. If you are booking a car or an Auto ride, to maintain social distancing, we recommend not more than two riders should travel at a time, besides the driver. No one should be seated right next to the driver.

Uber Essential is available to riders in Bhopal, Indore, Mumbai, and Nashik.

Safety

Now, as cities begin to reopen and people start moving again, Uber is proceeding with caution and safety is top of mind. We will all have a role to play to help each other stay healthy when travelling. We recently launched new safety features for riders and drivers to make sure we are making our next ride #SaferForEachOther.

Flexible cancellations for your ride

It’s vital that you feel protected when riding with us. Therefore, drivers and riders can cancel trips if they don’t feel comfortable due to safety reasons. In such cases, Uber will provide a full refund of cancellation charges, if the rider or driver submits a cancellation request through the app.
