About the Role



This role is responsible for ensuring Uber Freight’s Billing process operates as efficiently as possible. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing all billing processes and controls, ensuring the BPO processes are maintained, invoice submissions are correct, timely, and accurate. In addition to owning Uber's AR onboarding process for new shippers. The role will also work on payment options for freight customers.


What You’ll Do
  • Create maps for existing processes, with the intent of planning, performing and implementing process improvement initiatives for billing activities
  • Organize, lead and facilitate team members across the organization, including sales, account managers and the finance operations BPO support team on freight billing processes
  • Develop and track metrics to provide data for process measurement while identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure new shippers are on-boarded correctly from an AR perspective
  • Manage and lead all on-boarding calls for new shippers, specifically related to AR and invoicing methods
  • Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality
  • Deliver presentations and training to team members and management around current billing processes and problems.
  • Support Global Head of Order to Cash and Global Process Owner of Billing in leading the offshore BPO, serving as the key point of contact for customer billing escalations and helping them improve the process
  • Work with Freight Business Operations Manager to develop additional data metrics to help track the health of the business, and better position decision making for all Uber stakeholders
  • Provide top-notch customer service to all Freight customers, and provided an Uber Quality product on a daily basis
  • Develop and grow the Uber on-boarding process for AR


What You’ll Need
  • Critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and project management skills. You’re easily able to break a problem down into its constituent parts to identify the best solution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A minimum of 3 years of freight experience, preferably in accounting or billing team
  • Highly proficient in Excel with ability in data modeling
  • Sense of urgency to resolve issues
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced dynamic environment – we have no shortage of asks but limited time. You need to be able to effectively assess, prioritize, and execute autonomously
  • Strong time management & interpersonal skills; multitask and prioritize workloads; demonstrated analytical capabilities; effectively identify and resolve problems
  • Exceptional attention to detail oriented tasks
  • Experience in Oracle is highly desired
  • Solid functional knowledge of credit management, customer invoicing, receivable aging and collections
