We are looking for a Data Science Manager based in Mexico City, that will manage our data science team that is responsible for providing strategic insights for the business.

What You’ll Do


The Strategy & Planning Data Science team has the opportunity to take on some of Uber’s most innovative and impactful problems relating to the operational execution and strategic decisions of the business in Latin America. You will collaborate closely with operations and strategy POCs on:

  • Ops Projects. You’ll provide the advanced analytics expertise to high priority ops projects (e.g. segmentation, predictive modelling, advanced experimentation)
  • Strategic Projects. You’ll help build big long term regional projects that will have a lasting effect on the region
  • Anomaly monitoring. You'll perform thorough analysis of anomalies in our key KPIs to help Ops teams identify issues and proactively take action before it adversely affects our business
  • Education & standards. You'll help build best-in-class examples of analytical techniques that other Uber employees can leverage (“shelf products”). You’ll also have the opportunity to coach and teach other employees in advanced analytics methods
  • You will manage a team of data scientists and report to the Strategy and Planning Director



What You’ll Need

  • 8+ years of business consulting, investment banking, finance, operations, or similar analytical role
  • Prior experience in Product Analytics or other forms of data analysis
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience in at least one scripting language is preferred (ie. Python or R-script)
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to help solve business problems
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods
  • Experience with data-based decision-making, exercising good judgement in ambiguous circumstances, and effectively communicating across a diverse team.
  • Excellent organization and time management systems
  • Clear Communicator. You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly and highlight the key insights
  • Effective prioritization
