About the Role

 

 

The Driver Growth Lead for the Nordics (currently operating in the major cities of Sweden and in the capitals of Finland and Norway) is an exciting opportunity to further build and manage a key component of Uber’s business in the region. You will be a key member of the Nordics leadership team (reporting into the Nordics GM) and have the responsibility for all operational aspects of our Rides business related to driver growth and engagement and leadership of operations managers working in the Driver Growth vertical.

 

We are looking for someone someone who has experience building, continuously improving and running complex customer facing business processes, who's obsessed with iterating to obtain operational excellence and ‘Uber’ quality throughout the customer's experience. Growth and retention targets, product strategy, managing third party relationships, acquisition budget, customer experience and team management all sit under your responsibilities.

 

Growing our driver base is an important lever for future growth of our Nordics business and revolves around attracting, retaining and winning back people to drive on the Uber platform. You should have experience with and be passionate about enabling and driving growth in complex and competitive market environment and managing strategic, high-impact projects with operational excellence. You will need to be comfortable moving fast, adapting to change, think innovatively, solve problems at scale and inspire and lead talented group of Nordics Operations Managers. In addition, you will work closely with cross functional and cross regional teams of experts and stakeholders to leverage the full scale and knowledge of Uber in order to achieve our long term growth potential.

 

Finally, you should be excited by the possibility of creating a value proposal, growth strategy and processes that make driving Uber the most convenient and appealing opportunity for both our existing and future partners in the Nordics. Our ultimate goal is to move more people with less cars to free up space in cities and at the same time, enable exciting opportunities for those who move the people around

 

 

What You'll Do:

  • Strategy. As part of the Nordics Leadership, you’ll work closely with the General Manager and other leaders across the Nordics and Northern & Eastern European region to align, iterate and implement an overall vision and strategy that drives the growth and development our business.
  • Leadership. Build the team, roadmap, and processes to motivate and leverage existing and new employees to continually up-level their results, expectations, and stretch for increasingly higher levels of impact across all core operational metrics.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: In order to achieve the biggest impact efficiently you’ll need to rely on all parts, functions and knowledge of the Uber business. Interface with other functional areas (Central teams, Customer Support, Marketing, Policy, Legal, Communications, Business Development, Finance etc.) and ensure efficient and productive working relationships.
  • Operationalise & Optimize Processes. Create, build and reshape processes that scale across the Nordics sub-region (executed both centrally and localized) and allow the business to operate and grow successfully.
  • Growth & Retention. Scope, design and execute growth and retention strategies and high impact initiatives to ensure our successful growth in the Nordics. Manage the issues and opportunities around growth, conversion, retention and churn in a complex and competitive operational environment

  • Analytics & Optimization. Identify and make our metrics visible surrounding how we run and grow our business. Innovation starts with data intelligence, and the right metrics are at the foundation of this. Uber is a data driven company amd you will need to be comfortable with using data and analytics to make decisions, influence your stakeholders and support your team members in doing the right decisions with data.

 What You’ll Need

 

  • A minimum of 8 years experience in growth or business process management in operations, technology or similar area in complex operating environment, customer facing processes, regulated industries, fast growing start-ups, etc.
  • Experience working as a member of a Senior Leadership Team
  • Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgement - you understand what drives value for customers and can make sensible commercial decisions to reflect this, in addition you’re able to identify and target different customer cohorts to form a solid customer acquisition and retention strategies
  • Effective project management - experience delivering on a multifaceted, high impact projects with many stakeholders
  • Stellar cross-functional working to build strong working relationships across different functional teams
  • Experience leading a team, with willingness to invest in the coaching and development of your team members
  • Ability to adapt to change with humility and resilience
  • A passion for serving customers and Uber and growing the service across the Nordics
  • Strong working knowledge of at least one Nordic language is appreciated
