As Jaipur continues to grow and evolve, change can bring in new challenges but also new ways to solve them. That’s why supporting the work of the Jaipur Traffic Police and their initiative for a Road Safety Week was a no-brainer for Uber Jaipur. Road Safety Week goes on from 30th Jan – 6th Feb 2017 in the city of Jaipur, with a focus on educating citizens on the importance of ensuring road safety.
This week, we connected some of our driver-partners to the Road Safety program. On Feb 2nd, 2017, Uber driver-partners received training on road safety from the Jaipur traffic police. We see this as one step towards our commitment to making Jaipur’s roads safer. With a service area that spans across Jaipur and the fact that Uber operates across multiple routes in the city, Uber driver-partners can definitely contribute to the vision of safer roads in Jaipur. We believe that technologies like Uber provide an incredible opportunity to improve road safety in new and innovative ways — before, during and after every ride.
Here’s what Shri Haidar Ali Zaidi, D.C.P. Traffic had to say about it-
“Road safety is of paramount importance to us and we are committed to making roads in Jaipur safer. We are happy Uber is participating in Road Safety Week, 2017, to promote road safety in the city. Through their efforts, Uber will be spreading awareness on making Jaipur roads safer by conducting road-safety workshops with Uber driver-partners, educating Uber’s riders and spreading general awareness on road safety through posters, social-media posts, pamphlets and police barricades. We are happy to be associated with Uber.”
