Introducing Taxi Fixed Price 🚖

At Uber, we always aim to provide you with the best possible ride experience, and that’s why we’re excited to introduce Taxi Fixed Price. Now when you request the Taxi Fixed Price Product, you'll see a clear, simple upfront price guarantee.

What this means for your next trip 💡

  • Clarity from the start: Say goodbye to price ranges and meter anxiety. The upfront price you are shown is the price you can trust.  You will not pay a higher price than the one displayed (see example).
  • Know your route: If your route has multiple stops, you’ll need to include all of them in your trip request in order to get an accurate price up front (see how to add stops to your trip in the Rider FAQs section below).
  • Maximum Price Guaranteed: The upfront price is the most you will pay for that journey’s price. If the taximeter runs lower, you’ll pay the lower metered price plus a €1 technology fee charged by Uber (see example).
  • What if my plans change? Your fixed price is calculated for the specific trip you booked. If you change your plans mid-ride, the price will change. This includes changing your final destination, adding a new stop, or requesting a different route.

If you need to make changes to your trip once underway (eg. picking up another passenger or changing your final destination), you simply need to make the changes in the Uber app and you will be prompted to accept any revised fixed price.

2) This example assumes no changes are made to the original trip booking. If you change your plans mid-ride, the price will change. This includes changing your final destination, adding a new stop, or requesting a different route.

Tips for a smooth ride: Double-check destinations. Some places have streets with similar names, so make sure that the destination is correct.

4. What if I have a preferred route that Uber is not using?

No problem. If you have a preferred route to the one Uber is suggesting (e.g., you want to travel via the M50 rather than through the city) you can add a stop along that route (you don’t need to physically stop). This gives you the control to set the route and get the correct Fixed price.

5. What if the Fixed Price is more than what I usually pay for the same trip?

The upfront price is the most you will pay for that journey’s price. If the taximeter runs lower, you’ll pay the lower metered price plus a €1 technology fee. Prices are calculated on estimated time travelled and take into consideration traffic conditions, so they may vary from trip to trip*.
