From Gatwick to Heathrow and all over town, learn how pickups and drop-offs work at major airports.

Maximising your earning opportunities

Airport trips

From your feedback and our own analysis, we know that drivers in London often head to the airport empty, in order to get a ride request back to the city. However, our analysis tells us that this is inefficient for your earnings, as you are likely to earn more in the same time if you drive in the city, than go to the airport empty just for a return trip to the city.

The most efficient time to wait for an airport ride request back to the city is when you are already dropping someone off at the airport. However, if you still want to go to an airport empty to wait for a ride request, we suggest you go when waiting times are shorter, such as:

Heathrow

London City Airport

Remember, if you find yourself waiting in a long airport queue, you might have better earning opportunities driving back in the city, or in a nearby suburb, than waiting idle till you get a pick-up at the airport.
