About the Role
Our team has three core functions: (A) Severity Management, (B) Special Programs, (C) Uber Freight. The particular candidate we're looking for is someone that can make a significant impact on the Severity Management side of the group. This person should have very strong experience in liability claims handling, coverage application, and the ability to understand the complexities surrounding any type of claims settlement discussion. They must understand the core aspects of negotiation and being able to work with attorneys (coverage and litigation), outside defense counsel, and our insurance partners to ensure that each claim is reserved at the correct value.
What You’ll Do
Review data related to any high severity incident: assaults (physical and sexual), fatal accidents, anything with a brand or media impact
Coordinate with the proper stakeholders and effectively articulate the available coverage to those asking questions about insurance
Review indemnity notices from our insurance partners and learn to understand and correct certain behaviors
Manage an inquiry response queue and review time-demands and provide feedback on plans of action
Work cross-functionally with Safety, Insurance Litigation, Process/Quality, Comms, Incident Response to create an efficient flow
What You’ll Need
4 or more years of Insurance claims experience preferably in Commercial Auto or General Liability claims handling with a strong preference for candidates with experience in complex coverage, liability and/or represented claims; Strong technical claims background preferred
Experience working within a high pace, growth environment
Bachelor's Degree preferred not required
Proficient computer skills required to navigate a paperless environment; Experience with Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, or Excel a plus
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with teams from other organizations
Easy adaptation to changing situations, requirements or priorities
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings or weekends

Our team builds and maintains a high degree of excellence. We are given all the tough projects, build processes from scratch, understand the various complexities around our insurance program and tower. What's unique about this team is that our group will typically be the first group to go to when any new pilots, issues, or needs, arise. We exist to ensure that the most complex insurance claims issues are handle timely, appropriately, in collaboration with various stakeholders (insurance legal, coverage, biz development, support, etc.).
