About the Role
We are seeking a talented Security Engineering Manager to join our team in San Francisco or Palo Alto. This innovator will guide our Identity and Access Management team in building and managing solutions like: permissions policy distribution, centralized security policy management, and employee SSO.
What You’ll Do
Drive a talented team to build, maintain, manage and monitor Uber’s core authorization services.
Develop a unified roadmap, set team vision, and measure the most important technical and business indicators.
Help talented engineers develop toward their goals and sculpt a team culture of feedback and transparency.

What You’ll Need
Set roadmaps and hit targets in a high pace environment
Ensure security aligns to business needs without impeding development
Effectively drive a team to develop innovative solutions
Communicate effectively to achieve alignment both within and without the immediate team
Distill complex security problems and drive toward creative solutions
Organize large problem areas and build critical relationships across organizational boundarie
Building with and securing microservice architectures
Executing on SOA principles
Leading with a customer first mentality
Creating, rolling out, and maintaining granular authorization systems for people, machines, and workloads.
Building security policy management systems at scale.
Working with authorization industry standards like OPA, Active Directory, Apache KNOX, Kerberos
Building infrastructure that can maintain thousands of QPS with exceptionally low latency in a geographically dispersed environment.
Rolling out, and/or building, single-sign on systems.
Developing access policies that seamlessly apply to the data and tools layer.
Developing software in the security space for large companies.
Familiarity with PCI, SOC2, SOX, and ISO standards
Entrepreneurship or intrapreneurship experience
