At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.
We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.
About the Role
The most successful consumer technology companies are brilliant storytellers, who put their products—as well as the benefits of those products—front and center in every communication
For that, we need to build lasting relationships with the key news outlets and journalists in every country where we operate. Also, it's about being creative in how we tell our story, including using social media, as well as working with the public policy team to develop campaigns that make the positive case for reform
What You’ll Do
We are looking for a Senior Communications Associate for Brazil. This role will involve:
Establishing Uber’s brand and profile with the media and third parties
Working to tell our corporate story—and the story of ridesharing—in creative, inspiring ways that resonate with journalists and their audience
Understanding and foster our Social Impact initiatives and creating narratives that amplify the good work we do
Support our efforts in diversity and inclusion inside and outside the company
What You’ll Need
Ideally you would have 7 + years communications experience. Fluency in English and Portuguese, both oral and written, is essential, but we may consider other candidates if they meet the rest of the requirements
A self starter: Uber is a company of entrepreneurs and we want to work with people who enjoy building things from the bottom up too. Stuff changes fast in our world so you’ll need to be highly adaptable as well as calm under pressure;
A great advocate: We’re looking for people who can distill complex ideas into simple, but intellectually credible, arguments. You’ll need to write well and have the creative ability to tell stories—about our product, people and the ways we’re helping to improve life for passengers, drivers and cities;
A team player: We’re looking for people who enjoy working with others to get stuff done—and who can deal with the ambiguity that sometimes comes from working cross-functionally.
About the Team
Our team is responsible for telling Uber’s story, whether it’s transforming how we think about food delivery, helping small businesses grow by opening virtual doors to the best restaurants in a city, or lowering the barriers to entry for the people who value independent, flexible work. That's particularly relevant for our employees, helping them to understand what do we stand for and the positive impact we can have in the communities we serve
At Uber we don’t just accept difference—we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products and our community. Uber is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
