About the Role
We are looking for a strong communications professional to handle external communications for issues relating to people, HR, culture, diversity and inclusion, recruiting as well as Uber’s workplaces and real estate. In this role, you would support Uber’s Chief People Officer and Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and their teams globally.
What You’ll Do
Design and manage an external communications strategy on Uber’s culture, including proactive storytelling around Uber’s people; our diversity and inclusion efforts; and more
Support our Chief People Officer and her senior leadership team, including speechwriting, speaking engagements, media interviews, etc.
Build and maintain relationships with key journalists to tell the story of Uber’s team and culture
Be a trusted thought partner to our executives
What You’ll Need
5+ years of experience as a PR strategist in communications, policy, and/or journalism, as well as experience working firsthand with high-level executives
Self starter - You’ll be shaping how we tell our story to the world, requiring the ability to develop relationships, set a strategy, and execute; things change fast in our world so you’ll need to be highly adaptable and calm under pressure
Fact finder who loves to get into the details and deeply understand an issue from all sides
Superb writer who can distill complex ideas into simple, intellectually credible narratives
Connected communicator with a deep network of strong relationships across the media landscape that you’ll leverage to tell our story in a compelling way
Team player - A well-organized convener with management experience who enjoys working with others to get stuff done
