About the Role

We’re seeking a Lead Employment Paralegal who has the same passion for excellence. This addition to our team must be organized, experienced and willing to take on the responsibilities necessary to make things happen. What You’ll Do
Oversee and manage a team of legal professionals
Maintain confidential files and case management systems
Maintain a legal library and other manuals and resource materials
Manage day-to-day calendaring/docketing of case deadlines
Manage service of process and mail intake
Assist in a variety of special collaborative projects, including fact investigations and interviews
Draft discovery responses and pleadings
Implement litigation legal holds
Conduct background investigation and summarize information and findings
Coordinate document collections/productions and liaise with eDiscovery team
Participate in training and presentations
Prepare internal reports and playbooks
Implement and refine internal processes and development
Maintain relationships with business partners and provide advice and support as needed
What You’ll Need
A minimum of 10 years of legal experience in either big firm or an in-house legal department
Employment law background, ideally with some administrative agencies, such as the DFEH, EEOC, workers’ compensation, insurance claims, or state unemployment claims
B.A./B.S. required, paralegal certificate or some law school preferred
Ability to lead appropriate projects independently and successfully manage teams
Experience with state and federal courts including solid understanding of court rules, calendaring requirements, and filing procedures
Strong understanding of the litigation process, from start to finish
Technical know-how with at least an intermediate level of computer skills, including Google suite, Excel, Word, Adobe, Box and other web-based applications
Experience with legal database management (Relativity, Concordance, Ringtail, iManage, FileSite)
Highly motivated, efficient, organized, and laser-focused on the details
Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time in a high pressure, fast-paced environment
Calm in deadline-driven situations; self-reliant and able to prioritize workload
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Excellent business judgment and interpersonal skills
Flexibility and willingness to help out wherever needed
Comfortable collaborating as a team, as well as working independently to get the job done, no matter how big or small the project
Enthusiastic about Uber!
Experience with Salesforce applications
Some knowledge about SQL, queries, or desire to learn is a big plus
Other web-based applications such as Box, DocuSign, JIRA, Zoom, Google Suites

The employment team oversees and manages employment related litigation and claims across the business. We work hard to solve the most pressing and critical employment issues and also advise the business internally. The paralegal team is made up of experienced individuals who value and appreciate the importance of a good team dynamic. We are entrusted with significant substantive work, as well as tasked with classic matter organization and support.
