About the Role

We are looking for a senior leader for our Marketing and Advertising legal team. The right person is eager for a challenge and ready to build. This position will be based at Uber’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Head of our Marketing and Advertising legal team. The Marketing and Advertising legal team supports all of Uber's various marketing activities across its lines of business, including Rides, Eats, Freight, NeMo, and U4B.
What You’ll Do
Review advertising and other promotional materials for legal and regulatory issues, as well as advise on media/content rights and required clearances/releases
Draft and negotiate a variety of agreements, including agency contracts, talent deals, sponsorships, and media buying deals
Oversee Uber’s social media activities from a marketing legal perspective
Develop, update and implement enterprise marketing legal guidelines, policies and processes
Serve as a subject matter expert within Uber for marketing law and relevant regulatory issues, including by staying up to date on marketing legal developments and conducting internal trainings on relevant issues
What You'll Need
A minimum of 8 years of experience combination of law firm and in-house experience
Substantial marketing law experience (FTC Act and guidance, CAN SPAM, TCPA, NAD case reports, UDAAP, state promotions laws, etc…)
Admitted to practice in the US (CA preferred)
Experience advising on marketing, ad tech, and new technology issues
Management experience preferred as this role will manage a team of paralegals
Excellent business judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and detail focused
Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as a team to stay in sync and working independently to get the job done
