About the role


We are building out the office of the Data Protection Officer. The office supports the DPO with his tasks related to advising on the GDPR and monitoring Ubers compliance with the GDPR and ePrivacy.


What you will do


  • Enable product managers, data scientists and engineers in parts of the organisation assigned to you to “do the right thing with” data
  • Provide on the job training and advice on privacy and data protection by design
  • Execute GDPR reviews, audits and associated reporting 
  • Propose structural improvements and get these accepted
  • Provide solicited and unsolicited advice on the application of GDPR and ePrivacy


What you will need


  • You have minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience
  • You are curious, open-minded, resilient and self-starting
  • You have strong written and oral communications skills
  • You posses a thorough understanding of GDPR and ePrivacy and their background
  • You have a good understanding of how information technology, software engineering and data governance work and you are able to “follow the data”
  • You are able to see the bigger picture, yet always prepared to dig deep into the details that matter
  • You have an academic degree in law, business administration and/or computer science
  • You are available to travel to the US and across the EU


Bonus Point

  • Having CIPP/E or similar qualification is a bonus

About the team


The DPO team is advising on the GDPR and monitoring Ubers compliance with the GDPR and ePrivacy.
